Let’s talk about foundation. If you are into makeup, then you know foundation is a key part of a daily face routine. And honestly, even if you aren’t, you’ve definitely seen it in stores and wondered why in the hell anyone would want to spend money on a colored cream to slab onto your face.
In this post, I’m going to talk about Kat Von D’s Lock It Foundation. This foundation is thick, creamy, and super pigmented. For only $35.00 at Sephora you can buy this product, and all other Kat Von D products. This foundation comes in various skin tones so women with the lightest skin to the darkest can probably find a shade for them, at least to some extent. I have had my foundation for over a year, and have only used a little over half the bottle. Now, I also use different foundations all of the time, so it lasted longer than it probably would’ve normally.
Now, since this foundation is so thick, you have to be careful about not caking it on. Because a caked face looks like you rolled around in Doritos powder. Below in this photo you can see how pigmented and creamy this foundation is, also how thick the formula is. I have tattoos, and this foundation covers them almost too easily. It’s crazy. So, what have we learned? This formula is thick, and you need to only apply a light amount.
Moving onto skin types for this foundation. If you do not use a primer with this, then your face will start to feel oily after a while if you have naturally oily skin. If you do not have oily skin, then go for it. On the downside, if you have dry skin, using a moisturizer before applying is the best option for you. Now, I have patchy skin, and I use Urban Decay B6 Spray. This spray is amazing! It absorbs oil and minimizes pores, which is fantastic when applying a foundation such as this one.
All in all, I give this product a 3.5/5. It’s good, but I’ve had better foundation for my skin type.
Let me know what you think!
